Greetings, All!
Hi, I'm Volstead, an arrogant, insensitive, women and children last, boorish, egotistical alcoholic . And those were my most endearing qualities. I have since been making a grand undertaking in sobriety with all of two weeks under my very taxed belt. An amazing feat in itself due to the fact there has been only one other occurrence that I did not partake in the devil's elexir for roundly 10 days in the last 3 decades.
My current interim Higher Power are the noble and good folks at Odyssey Pharmaceuticals and their marvelous pill , Antabuse, and it's bête noire side effects. Currently, I am at task determining the Higher Power of my understanding while pursuing new healthy habits to exchange for my old unsound ones. I look forward to my newfound fellowship in these cyber rooms.

Hello. This is also my Day 14. I have a previous 1000 plus days but then I went and spoiled it all by saying something stupid like. "Large glass of Chardonnay please" so day 14 it is. I won't say welcome to you because I am new here myself but hello and I like your verbosity if you don't mind me saying so. 😊
It's good to meet you, Volstead. I hope you'll find it helpful to be here.
Two weeks sober is a wonderful achievement. I'm sure you have many endearing qualities just waiting to show themselves. Here's one - honesty. Many of us lack the ability to see what alcohol is doing to our lives - but you've owned up to it.
Happy you chose to share your journey with us.

Two weeks is good it seems like its downhill on the physical insanity somewhat after that. At least it was for me. Are you trying A.A.? I was a stubborn, neurotic. Egomaniac like yourself when I was drunk too. Don't worry unless you still are sober.
Remember, every Saint was also a sinner.
