6 day sober but with a new strategy
ok so ive been trying for over 3 years and keep failing, so last Thursday I woke up and hated what I saw in the mirror, a fat drunk, I have tried so many things but I end up quitting as I always find an excuse, now no excuses, I felt and still feel charged and ready to keep sober.
so I decided to do some research on sorting myself out, I decided on a low fat, calorie diet with raw vegi juices, so after 6 days ive lost 8 pounds, feel so much better, even
every morning I have, kale, 3 carrots, parsnip, apple, celery, spinach. looks disgusting but im happy as its giving me lots of goodness and is helping me diet, plus as I feel better about myself I don't need alcohol, well that the plan.

LOVE the veggie juices im actually HOPELESSLY ADDACITED to them now ,I crave the veggie /fruit shakes i make .
I crave and look forward to them more than i ever did with alochol .
Fun part is expermenting with all the diffrent flavors ,and diffrent overtones of fruits /veggies .
I have went as far as adding brussel sprouts in too .
I added a tomato once ,but it OVERPOWERED the other flavors ,I still drank it ,but wont do that again .
Plus if you are active and exercise ,You can eat almost anything and not get fat .
My co-workers say "I will eat anything that does not eat me first "
Muscle requires alot of calories to support ,You will be shocked when you start working out ,how hungry you will be .

dang boris way to go! 6 months into my sobriety i was still in a desperate struggle for happiness etc.. Like you i looked in the mirror saw a fat washed out drunk (tho i was sober at that point for 6 months i still looked like a train wreck) I got a new kick a health kick I'm over 2 years sober now well over 100lbs ligher and i run 40-50 miles per week.
I guess i just found a new obsession. Along the way I've gotten into other things to make me happy and pass the time too.
I read us alcoholics suffer from lack of nutrition from all the years of drinking it would make sense and no better way to crank that nutrition back in then with fruits and veggies!
