...i have blown over 0.40 in hospital visits. I was just as drunk many other times. I really did come close. Thinking back on it... just wow.

Wow. That is really high. I blew .34 once and I was pretty out of it in the hospital. I still managed to act like a obnoxious jerk though even though I don't remember anything. I had them stick a cathader in me that night as well so I wouldn't wet the bed. It was horrible.

There was nothing about my drinking that I would classify as fun. Even when I was active.

It was the highest the nurse had ever seen. I was a mess. I did the fun little how long does it take you game. Let me tell yah, come down from 0.40, it's no fun. And it takes. Thirteen. Goddamn. Hours. to get back to 0.08.

Been there too. I went to detox the last time I relapsed. When I got there I felt fine, I remember everything. They had me blow into a breathalyzer...0.40%. I couldn't believe it. My buddy who brought me blew...0.00%. The doctor there told me that despite feeling fine, I was in pretty bad shape. A couple drinks more, who knows...

I used to hide bottles in my car and then make excuses to go to my car a few times every night.
The last time I snuck out to my car, I remember going to the car around 7pm, the rest I don't. Apparently I fell and broke my wrist and the ambulance took me to the hospital. I awoke, or came to, or came out of my blackout at 2am and they were just getting ready to send me home. The nurse told me my BAC was .4.
This was the event that made me quit drinking the first time.
They didn't set my wrist right in the cast, so I always have a reminder.

Most people are blacked out after about .16. The hospitals hated me so much because I was a regular they would release me in the morning at 6AM or 7AM. They wouldn't even call me a cab anymore. Of course, I was not the easiest patient. I would demand sandwiches, drugs, attention ect...

My BF's ex was at .56 once. I read the hospital reports myself. She is dead now, but not from that night.

When I was arrested for DWI, I was told by the officer the next morning that I was just shy of .03, which would have caused them to take me to the hospital. I don't know much about that point system. All I know is that I was seriously effed up.

I don't ever want to go through that again...and I haven't.

Not that it's a pissing contest.. but one hospital admission I blew a .56. The doctor told my parents and husband that the only way I was still alive (and coherent! Go figure) was because I had been drinking at that level frequently for a long time. Makes me sick to even think about.

I took a room mate to detox at a hospital who had a .61

He was standing and making jokes, too. The doctors and interns were floored.....

Just proves what we can do to ourselves when we try to create human pickles.

Not a contest, just fact.

A non drinker would be dead at that point ,just because an alocholic does not die at that point ,does not mean its a healthy way to live .

It's amazing what we will put our bodies through. We alcoholics will pound our system with that stuff, and even order another one as the specter of death looms over our heads. It's a powerfully addictive substance for some of us. Blowing a .4 the equivalent of suffering a drug overdose - and those victims often wake up to a big legal problem. Scary stuff.

Hope you are well and safe these days.

That's the sad part .4 is crazy high, but we will to .25 to .3 like it's nothing. Our bodies just know the drill.

Me and my friends use to have a breath test mostly for ***** and giggles, even though I liked it to keep my BAC safe. We'd blow close to .3 all the time and just laugh our asses off about how drunk we were. If it ever got over .3 I'd sober up a little.
