Hot UK weather

Well, damn this weather is a cold lager teaser if there ever was one. Family and friends all enjoying a few lagers and I'm stuck on the water. Just wanted to get my thoughts off my brain and on here just to remind myself why I'm doing this. Nothing like seeing people 'normally' enjoying alcohol to set the old brain cloud going. Thanks

Super hot here too so I can understand. I find that flavored seltzers take the place pretty good. The last two days I sweat bullets to drink my coffee but I drank it nonetheless.

The longer we stay sober though the easier it is going to be so let's keep at it.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I've been smashing the red bull as it's less sweat inducing ha ha. I know it's worth it and as you say it'll get easier. Nice one

To be honest I always hated drinking in the sun, it seems like a good idea at the time but it always made me feel ill (well ill-er than usual!). It is much nicer being able to quench your thirst rather than all that sickly sweet dehydrating beer. Ha, I never thought that I'd hate the thought of drinking beer but there it is

Hey Bird, the sun came out in Wales???

Hell yeah, and not just the hangover - going to bed drunk while it's this hot is horrible.

Me and H just tried to go for a walk along the beach and came back feeling really cranky for a 6-pack. Everyone and their dog is down there drinking!

Bah.

Cold bottles of Sol and lime. Dammit.

Love you, and well proud you didn't pick up xxx

Right now overcast, raining and cooler, but most of the time 95-100F and humid. Sweat in the shower around here.

If you want a good mocktail for the heat, make an Arnold Palmer: Half iced tea, half lemonade.

Very refreshing!

Good on you bro! You're doing brilliantly mate. We deserve treats but booze isn't one of them. That's not a treat that's poison

Save up all the booze money and buy a convertible car , then you can leave all those drinkers sat round in your dust behind you ....... brrrrm ......

Midnight or late night walks are also nice in this weather something nice about the beach after sunset IMHO

Bestwishes, m

Ta for posting this. I'm off work and meeting a mate for a picnic in London tomorrow, I started romanticising booze. Then remembered to play the tape to the end e.g. likely I'd end-up drunk, miserable, and sticky hangovers in this heat.

It will rain soon, and we'll go back to being miserable and British indoors

You can get through this.

And I'm about to get out some sparkling water, ice and apple juice with ginger, and watch Murray's Wimbledon victory again online.

Last year, I was newly sober and it was more difficult in the odd bit of summer, but this year, despite having the odd craving I'm am really enjoying some of the British summer. The heat is actually making me feel really chilled out, which I didn't expect.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Bluebird, it will get easier the more you do this.
