I'm glad you're making progress. I only know Gateway by reputation, and have heard only good things.

Pinktee, sorry I haven't heard of them. I'm sure someone

Yes, i know Gateway quite well. Ive been to Gateway in Lake Villa and Gateway in Aurora, twice. Many of the counselors there were in recovery as well, which I especially loved. Very passionate staff. They will feed you very well. I 100% did not want to be there, only went to satisfy the court system. I was very rebellious, lazy and didnt care. They focused on mental issues as well, anxiety, depression, anger etc. I enjoyed that too. Rehab is not magic, it wont fix you, but places like Gateway will certainly give you the right tools. Hope I helped!

This makes me feel better they have me in their day program which is one step down from their inpatient program, but I'm to a point where I just want to go to inpatient because I feel like I can't handle the outside world right now.

I guess the next step would be to talk to your counselor about this, unless you've already done so. Early sobriety is often a difficult and vulnerable time for us. I needed to learn to be gentle with myself and take in as much help as I could get. It genuinely surprised me just how supportive and generous people were.

My first sponsor once told me, when I was in early sobriety in AA, "You cannot get this (recovery) slowly enough." I do hope you're able to give yourself all the time, space and support you need.
