Feel embarrased :(

But I relapsed and haven't been coming to the forum because of that. I've also realized that I've picked up a nasty habit when I drink (its been happening for some years now but its gotten worse)-SMOKING. I hate smoking sober and was never into smoking. I always found it disgusting but did have a few cigs here and there while I was intoxicated. Well, now, I HAVE to have a cig and usually chain smoke when i'm drinking. It's almost like the drinking is not enough anymore and I need more stimulation. I usually get tired after drinking (not like before) and need something to keep me up.

welcome back.don't be embarrassed,We've all been where you are. you're back here now though which is the main thing. I got sober with the help of SR after many relapses

bliss - You never have to feel embarrassed here. Almost all of us have had the same struggles. When you relapse is the time you need to be here for suggestions and hope. It will relieve the anxiety you're feeling. You can get back on track.

Don't be embarrassed, we have all done it. The good thing is that you already know about SR and what you need to do! Welcome back.

Thank you. I guess I feel embarrassed because I was so happy and raving about being sober and then bam, this happens. I feel like I have this constant inner conflict that is causing me to relapse.

Well, ultimately I would like to stay sober but that's something I need to work on continuously.

You'll get there, just keep trying one day at a time. The farther you go, the easier it gets. Just keep reminding yourself of that every time you get cravings.
