Confused and scared
I guess I am wrighting this right now becasue I need a little support. I have been sober now for...I think 73 days and I still am feeling like I was back when I was drinking (with some very small improvements). The confusion, depresonalazation, BRAIN FOG, anxiety, ect just wont let up. I NEED!!!!! this to end.

Hi Steve,
I too am 73 days sober - how weird!! I know it's hard - I have days where I just don't think I'll make it through, but those are the days I live moment to moment. If you have made 73 days you CAN make 74 and that's all you have to think about right now.
Trust that this will get better - I go to many AA meetings and I see the people on the other side and when they share their stories of hope I truly believe the it will happen someday.
Keep posting here. Sometimes just a kind word can make all the difference in the world.
Hugs

i needed more than simple abstinence to get me on some kind of hopeful track. What else are you doing?

Yeah Steve, not drinking and doing drugs gets us off to a good start.
It's the other 99.9% of recovery that brings us back to a happy place.
Like mackat suggests, are you leading an otherwise active life?
Lots of healing in encouraging others...
Are the meds still playing games with you man?
Hang in there Steve. It gets better I promise.

Hi Steve...
I am only a little ahead of you at 79 days...I still feel improvment every week...sometimes a little setback. The brain fog is tuff to deal with...keep on one day at a time and don't forget to eat well...exercise helps too...brain exercises and body exercises...and I agree with the others, look for ways to get involved, be with other sober people doing positive things..!

Yeah Mike, I've had an old Fender fretless around for the longest time...
There's a still dormant little Jaco Pastorius inside me!
Whenever I can't find the notes in my 6 and 12 string girls, I turn to my beat up bass for a work out! :wink1:
