I don't get bad drink cravings anymore at all I stopped taking the antabuse a long time ago and the naltrexone a month ago. No bad cravings so far. I do get the weird urge though to sniff the liquor bottles especially beer and wine when I walk by them. I have to stop myself remember what my sponsor says go sniff a flower instead. Does anyone else get the urge to sniff liquor bottles?

I would agree that's a slippery slope there you are on. Next thing you know you are innocently just tasting a little. You know where that leads.

I have almost 10 months sober. I went to lunch with my husband and son today and my husband ordered a beer. It didn't bother me but I really wanted to sniff it. I had no desire to drink it but I sure wanted to take a big sniff.

I detest the smell of alcohol now; maybe it is because I know how horrible it would be for me if I drank again. I don't react the same way to cigarette smoke although I never have an urge for that like I do for alcohol. Strange how the mind works at times; I wouldn't tempt myself, however, if I was you.

I sure did before going on a program of recovery. I used to sniff the hand sanitizer gel at work just to calm my nerves and craving.
