I believe what you are seeing are FORUM MONITORS/MODERATORS who periodically may have to remind folks of some of the rules that we agreed to when we signed up to be a member of Sober Recovery.

This is part of why this site is so SUCCESSFUL and has been on the internet SO LONG!!!

Oh and btw, not all of the Forum Monitors/Moderators are AA, roflmao We have folks here from all walks of life and from all types of recovery.

Love and hugs,

Hi again Lucy

We have all kinds of people here from all kinds of recovery methods

It is a moderated site - the vast majority of posters here seem to like that.

Our rules and policies are here:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ting-tips.html

I recommend you visit the Secular Connections forum if you think you may benefit from a non 12 step approach.

I'm not a member of AA

....Policing annnnny-body that doesnt think like them and offering their advice after not even reading what the person is posting or interpreting what they want from that person's post. and then i am seeing that innocent thread poster having to defend their post to these people who are kinda..invading their posts just to offer their unwanted, weird ramblings. Really kooky and weird. Like Moral Trolling when they arent even on the same page as the person. i guess some people really like to read their own thoughts and feel heard....even when its completely not relevant to the post or the thread.

And i was reaching out to people that were
a. non AA
and including
b. annoyed with and/or NOT one of the people who are guilty of what i am talking about. (see above)

<----------- If anyone sees a post you thinks breaks our rules use the report button on that post.

We also have an ignore feature:
Ignore bothersome members. If there is someone on the forum that bothers you, select the Ignore option on the drop down menu under their name on the post. You won't see any posts from this member again.
Remember we're all on the same side, here

I am in AA but I don't have a problem with any recovery program if it keeps you sober.

I guess that's why they named this place SoberRecovery.

My experience here is that the staff that run the site are also in recovery, and they all have several years sober and a lot of good advice to share. Most of the time I see them post they are just sharing their experience like any other member would share. They also try to post as often as possible to the newcomers to the board to make them feel welcome.

None of us are going to agree with everything people say here. There are over 100,000 members here so it's bound to happen from time to time. My advice would to be to take what you want from the threads and leave what you don't want.

I'm so glad you noticed this...it's kinda been bothering me too.
Seems phony to me, like they are robot posters.

gmanriley:

so weird these creepers! dont know who these people are but i thought i just posted a thread to get support and find like minded people on the issue, not argue with people i will never meet nor could i give a ratsass about. i dont have time or desire to go around the internet commenting and nitpicking and totally dissecting (and misconstruing) people's comments on threads that dont apply to me.

im not starting this thread to get all these people who DO that to come out of the woodwork, i was reaching out to LIKE MINDED people. dunno how many times or how many languages i need to say that in.

I don't want textbook answers from cyborgs, I want real people to understand where I'm coming from...and respond (or not, no biggie) , but I can smell BS a mile away...and my life cupboards are stocked full of BS so spare me.

Why don't we start over again. I'm more than willing to give you support and answer any questions you have if I know the answer.
