Well, here it goes night 1 again . I have been reading the forums since 4am and just looking for some encouragement. Congrats to all of those who have managed to get this nasty disease under control.. I hope I could be so lucky...hugs for all

Lostconfused you can do it! Today is day 31 for me. I have had to put a significant amount of effort into staying sober. More than I ever thought I would. Overall it has been a good month though with just one or two bumps in the road.
Today a bump came in the form of $750 in car repairs. That sucks. I had to do some deep thinking because my natural reaction is to get drunk and drowned it all out. The whole money thing just sucks. I ended up going to a meeting.
I know I'm better off now being sober. The car stuff still sucks but at least I don't have to feel bad about drinking over it.
You can do this. Get a plan together and keep trying. It has taken me a long time to learn that its the first drink that get me in trouble. Take care!

Have my alarm set for 6am...Going to the gym, which thank god I never lost that passion even while drinking. Straight from there going to a meeting at 9 am. I now realize, I have to see past the withdrawals. Just as scary as withdrawing is, drinking a bottle of wine or any alcohol should be just as scary.
