Day 15!
Don't forget that you have a LOT going on...and you are getting sober. You need to remember to celebrate your accomplishments no matter how small they seem to you because they are huge accomplishments. Yes...things can be emotionally intense right now but savor those moments of peace and clarity! The rain falling outside last night was my moment of peace Keep up the great work....you deserve it!
Dave, isn't it nice to be acknowledge by
your name, because you are a person,
a man, with a heart, mind and soul,
capable of making good changes in
yourself and life. Like many of us who
are the same, we have an addiction problem
that can be solved by relieing on others
to guide us and feed us useful, helpful,
healthier tools of a recovery program to
live with each day we stay sober.
Never do you ever have to go thru situations
in life again. Never do ever have to figure
out things in life by ourselves again. There will
ALWAYS be someone who has been there
or done that or whatever it is ur having
problems with that can share their experiences,
strengths and hopes with you to help you out.
Especially with addiction right now, there are
so many who have found a way to not drink
or use a day at a time using those tools and
knowledge of addiction taught to them. We had
to be taught these things because we did not
know of them or how to use them properly.
Knowledge is a powerful thing to use in all
areas of our life. We had to learn in school
before heading out in the world to work, survive,
support ourselves. We are taught a trade for
whatever job we have. So is it with addiction.
We need to be educated about it so we can
use that knowledge to help us not stay addicted
to drugs or alcohol.
Rehab for me was a school to learn about
my addiction. AA meetings are also a school
for learning and so is being here in SR.
You would not believe how much I have
learned here over the years even with 22yrs.
sobriety. The fact is, we never stop learning
new ways to live life healthier, smarter and
happier.
I listened to suggestions by many and took
them to heart, mind and soul to stay sober
and because I wanted those promises to
come true for me, I went to any lengths to
do what I needed to do, to the best of my
ability to stay sober.
You can too, Dave.

That's great news! Always encouraging to see people make it to the milestones.
I'm in the double-digits now too--day 10. Almost blew it a couple of hours ago, but I'm back in the groove now. I hope.

Fantastic , I could not have believed my first two weeks as it had been so mant decades that I had gone so long, it's not a big one now, and so much easier and happier.
Good luck, this place is pure gold!
Regards John.
