I have a few weeks of sobriety under my belt now. Longest I have gone in years. Pretty much have stayed in with my husband most nights watching movies, basically our normal nightly routine, just minus the booze. It has been great. He has not been drinking to help me and we are both feeling better and more productive. I have not had any cravings either.
Normally, we would meet up with friends at our local bars at least a couple times a week but have been avoiding that.
Tonight, however, I am going out to meet some out of town friends that I have not seen since last year at, you guessed it, a bar.
I don't think I will be tempted, tho I know I will wish I could, if that makes sense. Anyway, I am just putting this post up here so I have something to come back to after tonight and say "I just had a diet coke! Maybe some chips and salsa."
I am not drinking tonight. Happy Friday.

That's awesome to read, thank you for posting this on this board. I hope this turns into a lifestyle for you, the bottle is definitely not where peace and happiness come from

Well done, babycat. My wife also stopped drinking to help me out, and it helped immensely to have her support like that. (Interestingly, it was pretty much a total non-issue for her to do this, since she does not have a problem... amazing how different is a normal person's relationship to alcohol.)

It is funny tho, how much more quickly I am ready to leave the bar when sober, lol.
