Flight (movie)

Has anyone seen this movie? Its rather interesting, tells the story of an alcoholic airline pilot. In my view, its actually a very good portrayal of a "functional alcoholic". Of course its hollywood so there's are plot elements that are for effect, film would b quite boring otherwise, but Denzil provides a great performance.

For me, it also didnt pull my drinking triggers, I felt more sorry for him than wanting to join him on a bender.

Any thoughts?

It was a great movie. And the message was strong, especially what he decided to do at the end (I won't spoil it for you.)...Denzil was awesome in this movie.

I've seen it. I liked it a lot. The last scene in the movie ... And Denzel's line about "freedom"
Is incredibly powerful.

Great movie. A very accurate portrayal of alcoholism. The overpowering obsession to drink even at the times when it is most important not to.

I know the character even though I've never met the guy. Egotistical maniac with an inferiority complex. I see him in the mirror every day.
If Denzel isn't "one of us" the writer certainly is...

love, love this movie...

Of course when I watched it I thought.."wow, glad I'm not that bad". In reality, we are that bad, just in different bodies and experiences. Our guilt and shame is the same as Denzel Washington's character. I think everyone struggling with substance abuse should see it.

I watched that movie everyday for a week while detoxing off of opioids. In fact that movie gave me the desire to quit. I am in aviation. It really hit home.

I loved it. Very accurate portrayal of a drunk/addict. Totally related to much of the movie. I loved the ending!
