Re: Brain question

WOW! Dan, that must be worth 100 points, using two in one sentence!
OK, Don, what are the rules for multiple usage?

Words arent the problem folks.....

Don you can use all the big words you choose...but you are a drunk just like the rest of us...some drunks use big words and some use small ones...its still the same..you a drunk like us all and thats a property thats defines us all..so wether its a professor or a truck driver ..you are a drunk,,as am I...its a fact that is true and only held in check by never drinking again...once you drink Im sure your large words will become jummbled...steve

Re: Brain question

This was our course: We realized that the people who wronged us were perhaps spiritually sick.
Though we did not like their symptoms and the way these
disturbed us, they, like ourselves, were sick too. We
asked God to help us show them the same tolerance, pity,
and patience that we would cheerfully grant a sick friend.
When a person offended we said to ourselves, "This is a
sick man. How can I be helpful to him? God save me
from being angry. Thy will be done.

Don't know what happened to my post but I did not think anything was inflammatory in it. Was there some editing done? I missed the fireworks I guess.

Re: Brain question

Just a bit of good old linear thinking was removed fuster. Probably beneficial for all in the end. Thanks for your wishes for my continued recovery by the way. I was deeply moved.
And Steve, my friend, what was that all about?!!

Well, thanks, Dan. I wish I saw what was said before the deletions, but not that curious. Moderators have to sometimes shut down threads when they get out of control. At least this one survived, albeit with cosmetic surgery.

Niner;
Thank you for the reminder!
" ask God to help us show them the same tolerance, pity,

Re: Brain question

Hi Dan

I just wanted to let all know our common denominator isnt langauge its drunkeness...doctor..lawyer..trucker..NFL Q.B. waitress or the guy who throws your paper..we all are drunks who dont drink...and that the common man here has the same problem as the elite word smith and vice versa..thats we are all alcoholics...no offense intended..

Re: Brain question

So are we going to play? What are the rules? Do we try to use all the words from previous entries or just the one new one?

Do I owe you a Pepsi? I don't know. The leafs and the Wings both died out.

Sooo. Whats the next new word? How about "Loquacious"? You are the guy with a kazillion posts so you may know about this kind of thing. Hehe.

Re: Brain question

:LMAO on the pepsi! Yeah, I've got some time on my hands and I'm spending a lot of it here, for good or bad! This is Don's baby though, so I ain't gonna touch loquacious!
But then again, I remember....! Never mind!
I read you had some tech stuff going on. Hope all resolves itself. I sure enjoy reading your posts.

Later then!

Re: Brain question

Mackat loses 50 points for using obstreperous as a verb, but regains them and adds 50 more for adding loquacious, turning cudgel into an Olde English idiom in a rural Southern US vernacular, and 100 more for bringing the whole conversation into context with the dead-on logomachy!
Loquats, by the way, have nothing to do with loquacious, or with kumquats, for that matter. Both are fruit, but the former is not a citrus while the latter is--though in its own genus, making it unique among that fruit group.
Whew.

Re: Brain question

Thanks Don. I'm educated in mathematics, and English was never my forte. Anyone want to discuss differential equations, quadratic functions or theory of Pythagoras, whip it out, though it would be a real long stretch as it realtes to recovery!
