Smile still a newbie in recovery

Have to admit I am a horrible blogger. I have a couple of other blogs for business purposes; and I have failed to keep them up.
But here I will say that I am going to make an effort to post to this blog at least once a week.
I joined this site last year cuz I wanted to stop drinking. I felt and still feel like I have limited control of myself when it comes to drinking. After putting up with an alcoholic husband for 6 years, I decided to walk away. That was more than 10 years ago. Other than drinking as a teenager, I didn't have a problem with it until quite recently. My "demise" of sorts started in my 30's; and it has gone downhill ever since due to 1) drinking too much 2) making some bad decisions 3) drinking too much 4) Making excuses for all the above
So this blog will be my guidepost for myself to stay sober.
If anyone cares to comment or read my writings, plz do. I am not an AA participant for various reasons, but am open to suggestions from anyone who wants to share or offer opinions.

Well frisky, for 1) I am so glad you are here for 2) you never have to be alone again 3) Sounds like you know and have accepted you have a problem and that is the first step right?

This forum is so amazing frisky, you will find most excellent posts and support unlike anywhere else. So if you are struggling just let it all hang out cuz there are a lot of people who only want to help. Me included! God Bless you!

Friskme- I don't really have any pointers but I could relate to your post. I had never once struggled with drinking until my 30s. I went from drinking a few times a year to becoming a full blown alcoholic.
