This doesn't answer your question but it's an interesting website to surf and kill some time. Go to Energy Fiend - The Caffeine Fix then click on "Death by Caffeine" and see how many of whatever caffeinated product you are consuming it will take to OD or read some of the articles they have. No pun or offense intended, I just think it's a fun and informative website.
On a serious side caffeine is a stimulant and by definition a drug (it has a physiological effect and can be addictive). The health effects of chronic long-term effects of excessive consumption of caffeine have been well documented. Hypertension, dysrhythmia (especially sinus tachycardia, ectopic heart beats, AF) and eventually can contribute to increased risk of heart disease and heart attack. A coffee headache is a good indicator of the effects caffeine has on vasomotor response and cardiac output. Other downsides include dehydration due to polyuria (caffeine is a diuretic), insomnia, agitation, nervous tension, stomach ulcers and digestion problems. The list goes on. Like anything it should be drunk in moderation. The Seinfeld episode of Kramer with unlimited supply is a sad example of what can happen when we do too much Cafe Latte.
