Over 1 year sober
Hey everyone, I havent been on here in months but I wanted to stop in and say that I passed the one year mark in January and all is well!
This site really helped me back when I first came here looking for support and anyone at that stage right now should keep that in mind. You can do it, you just have to WANT it.
Back when I quit I thought life would almost instantly start getting better, but that wasn't the case. The clear thinking helps you a ton, but the drunken holes we dig after years of drinking dont fill themselves in overnight. But bit by bit my life gets better and things drop into place. 1 year isn't that long for those things but on a sober front I personally think its huge
I dont go to bars obviously and can't even remember the last time I was in one. I also no longer hang out with certain "old friends" that in reality were just drinking buddies that I have zero in common with. I cant even begin to count the money I've saved too.
