I consider myself a recovery mutt!

I started with outpatient rehab and AA - turned out not to be my cup of tea so I quit both after six weeks. I read my AVRT book again and it turned out that was all I needed. I've read the Big Book (which I love) a few times.
I've also read several other recovery books and gained quite a bit of knowledge now of how addiction works and affects people so that helps me. I've also dabbled in WFS and read SR daily.

I was just wondering if anyone is maintaining a happy, sober life without attending AA? I'm at a loss as to what my options are really.

Hello and welcome :-)

I have not been to an AA meeting since July of 2001, at that time I had been sober 5 years. I am the happiest that I have ever been and I don't drink ;-) Our options/paths are infinite and it's difficult for anyone to know what you need personally.

Choices! Choices!

Love,

CS

This is one area where I believe it's important to keep an open mind. Our circumstances are all different so what works best for each of us may also vary. I love the "Recovery Mut" analogy, because there are gold nuggets scattered everywhere the take what works and leave the rest approach does have its advantages.
