Fingers Crossed

Well, I finally made it to the Dr today. I had a couple of other things I needed to go in for anyways, so I decided that today would be the day that I came clean and have myself checked out and see what he had to say. I told him the truth and he said alright, I thank you for telling me that, now lets see how everything looks. He did an exam and determined that I don't have an swelling of my liver, and that physically everything looks normal. Need to wait until tomorrow to get the blood work back so fingers crossed that all comes back good. I really needed this to put my mind a little more at ease as I felt like every little pain was the end of the world.

So the Doc call with my results today and although he didn't give me the numbers, and I didn't ask because he said everything looked great. My cholesterol is down, my BP was 120/70 and everything looked good. So I am a happy guy.

Thats lovely news!

I have been in your shoes where every little ache or pain was my liver.
Then drinking more and more to try and forget.
Then the pains seemed to get worse and worse.
That is a unique sort of mental torture that only we seem able to do to ourseves!

From now on, you know you are well.
You know you are not on the verge of a liver transplant.

So give it all you have and be happy no damage was done and you never ever have to feel like that again if you do not want.

I'd be inclined to get a copy of the liver function test results. They can be useful to refer to in the future.

Great to hear! We just don't know the wreckage that alcohol does to our body, and unless we are absolutely honest with our doctors, we will never know. Glad all went well
