Esophageal Cancer "Complete Remission"
Esophageal Cancer "Complete Remission"
Good Morning Everybody,
After 2 years, 2 surgeries, radiation, and more biopsies than I can count, I have just heard the 2 most beautiful, most blessed words that I could ever imagine...
My former esophageal tumors are now considered in the stage of "complete remission".
AND...I have gotten through this entire phase of my life S-O-B-E-R!!!. I don't know if I would have, or could have, otherwise.
Blessings,
Zube

I'm really happy for you. Congratulations.
A good friend of mine just went for an endoscopy yesterday because they suspect he might have esophageal cancer. While I'm of course hoping for the best diagnosis for him, if necessary, this may be encouraging new to pass along.

That's terrific news, Zube! My father went through the exact same thing about 12 years ago. He's still with us and in good health at age 80. He's also a recovered alcoholic with nearly 30 years sober!

Zube..... that is wonderful news. I didn't know you were going through this. You will be in my prayers. My best friend is struggling with stage 4 breast cancer and it is so damn hard to watch her struggle. It has been challenging to my sobriety as well and it isn't me that it is happening to, so I applaud you in facing this sober as you have. You are a very strong person.
Thanks, Soberween. I will certainly keep your best friend and yourself in my prayers. Breast cancer is so incredibly frustrating for anybody involved, including loved ones and friends.

That is WONDERFUL news!!!!!!!
Many alcoholics end up with Esophageal Cancer. I have to have Endoscopy's done yearly because I have the Barrett's Esophagus and that is a pre Esophageal Cancer condition.
More and more with the newer treatments I am hearing of this condition going into COMPLETE REMISSION.
I truly appreciate your news and know it will give hope to others who are suffering from this!!!!
Thank you.
Love and hugs,
