When you just don't feel like going to that meeting...

Go!

I feel like crap, haven't gotten more than 3-4 hours of sleep in days. I was supposed to meet my sponsor at a meeting close to my home and called him earlier to beg off. He said no way. He has a decent drive to get there and said I could sleep after the meeting.

I am so glad I went. I just heard an extremely powerful speaker. I may make this group my home group. I met a guy who lives two blocks from me and we wound up talking for quite awhile. We really connected and he offered to haul my butt to a meeting Friday night. Thank God for my tough sponsor.

Sometimes the right thing seems like the hard thing.

I haven't yet been sorry that I made myself go to a meeting when I didn't feel like it.

Glad you went!

It's usually when I don't feel like doing something that is really is best for me just to do it!

Two neighbors on the same street...the grass needs to be cut....one guy does it because it needs to get done....the other guy doesn't do it just yet because he doesn't feel like it!

Which one is the alcoholic? Forget how ya feel....just do it!

Exactly what everyone has said so far - the meetings that I lollygag over and try to think of lame excuses to avoid are the ones that when I end up going to them end up being great meetings. I still need to get into action mode to stay ahead of the game.

Glad your sponsor got you out of the house and out of your head

When I don't feel like going to a meeting is almost always when I really need to go. Every meeting I almost skip turns out to be one that makes a difference. Don't really try to figure out why anymore. I'm just grateful that it works that way....
