Ever taste alcohol when you haven't had any?
Only on my second day sober. My taste buds just told me I had whiskey in my mouth. Just sitting here at my desk and had the sensation of the taste of whiskey in my mouth. I do NOT have whiskey in my mouth. Has that ever happened to anyone else?

Definitely nonsensical!!!
I think it's normal. Whenever I quit, everything tastes of alcohol. I've even dreamed of alcohol and woken up convinced I've had a drink (when I haven't!). It's early days and it will get better. Keep on going - you're doing wonderfully.

That happened to me a few times; I think it was part of the craving. And of course, smell and taste are so intrinsically linked that I can still taste it when I smell alcohol, even though I've been sober a while. But as I never drank for taste, only effect, it kind of grosses me out now!
I have had these commonly in my various attempts at sobriety. They are hallucinations. They disappear or fade with time. I am now 20 months and if I do get them now I can,t remember them and its no big deal.
I looked at it as another variation on craving, part of me hanging out for a drink.

After waking up I had whiskey taste in my mouth. Been sober for three days, however.
Right now I'm smelling my hand. The smell is delicious. It's the same as when I open a new bottle, and the wonderful aroma of whiskey just hits my nose and fills my lungs.
It's just my addicted mind playing tricks on me.
