naltroxene for cravings?

Has anyone used this drug for cravings in thier early months of sobriety? If so did you have positive or negative experiences with it? My doctor prescribed ti and I would just like to know what to expect. Thanks in advance..

i took it for about a year.
I think it did calm the cravings.
It didnt stop me from drinking though.
it was supposed to take away the buzz, but not for me. I still felt it and drank to compensate for that.
When i committed to quitting and committed to AA i stopped taking it and by then there were no cravings.
But overall i think it did help. especially in early sobriety

Yes, that drug did help with me cravings. The Antabuse I was given I drank on. And the Campral didn't really help much for the craving & I drank while taking it.

Started these 4 days ago, felt fairly sick for the first couple of days, i believe this is a fairly common side effect though so hopefully i'm past it. On 21 days sober now and hopefully these tablets(along with AVRT and doc appointments) can give me the boost i need to get past the 1/2 month mark when the beast inside usually prevails! Good luck with them OP.

I too am using AVRT, nineteen67. I am Rx'd it only when I feel I may drink so we will see. Became very sick dizzy and tired on them... however, that in and of it self I guess made it hard to drink..lol. Thanks for the replies. Hopefully next time I take it I wont get such bad side effects.
