Some people get no withdrawal even after years of heavy drinking

I think I'm one of those people but what I am getting is depression and anxiety creeping back in after quitting. does that get better with time or should I see a shrink. what are your thoughts. how much time should I give it. well I just started and I don't feel that great right now but at the same time Im excited about quitting.

Some of us find any depression or anxiety get better with time and abstinence - some do not.

Did you suffer from depression or anxiety before?

yes I did, I seem to have more of the anxiety then depression now. It's hard to tell the last time I hade a bout of this because I've been drinking pretty heavy for that last two years. So I could never tell if i was depressed and anxious or just hungover. you get me?

yeah. I think if you've had problems before it's unlikely that simply stopping drinking will make the problems go away.

IMO It's probably worth seeing a Dr, but it's up to you really if you prefer to wait it out and see what happens.
