Found a meeting where I felt liked I belonged

I went to a meeting this afternoon a women's meeting from the moment I walked I felt so welcomed. I saw a lot of young women and they gave me a phone list. I saw someone who I thought I could talk to like I related to what she said. I hope I see her next meeting so I can talk to her. I'm making this my home group. I will still attend my old meeting once a week. I'm so glad I went.

Someone this lady from my home group I talked to her today had a real heart to heart just what I needed to talk and i feel so much better. She offered to be my sponsor and i feel like i can trust her. We are even meeting for coffee sometime we will both go to that new meeting sometime together. She told me to think about it and that it was upto me. When I told her I am firing my sponsor tomorrow she said that she understands it her sponsor had told her that she didnt think my sponsor was a good fit for me and that she should tell me but she said she didnt want to say anything let me figure it out. It REALLY REALLY felt good talking to her someone who understands what I am going through. This really made my day.

I'm trying to do the same thing! That's what's holding me back from going to a meeting.

You "sound" happier in these last few posts for sure. Amazing how things can turn around in such a short time. It didn't take long for that woman to cross your path. Now that you've got the sponsor thing taken care of, time for that lovely inventory (no pressure...ha ha)

Great news.

Awesome!

You remind me of me....please watch the she said thing, it can turn to gossip....remember Principles Over Personalities.......read the appendices starting on page 561 through the end of the big book......

I really appreciate your moving forward in your recovery! I hope you are journaling for yourself every day....

With great love, hugs & admiration,

mishneal, fear of changing self is real.

Having courage by walking through our fears and then having faith that things can work out....

You can do this!

The effort you made by attending the new meeting paid off well for you. It's really too bad good things won't often drop into our laps and require instead some effort to allow them to come into our lives.

The new lady sounds like someone who can guide you well on this journey.
