well iam just wondering and pondering on this question... well if you can get patches for giving up smoking (which gives the pharmacy companies huge profits i might add!) why is there not patches for kicking the dirty booze habit?......
or is there? seems too easy.

Scientifically, I'm going to guess because there is no drug created yet that can to do the job through skin contact, AND also be time released. It doesn't seem all that practical either, considering you can die from alcohol withdrawal. I don't believe that's ever happened with nicotine withdrawal. I wouldn't wait on that patch... just in case you are.

Hmm, well, with alcohol, it's the thought/obsession of a drink, then succumb to that desire, then the physical craving for more alcohol kicks in. With nicotine, the craving for another cig. Goes away after the 1st cig.
A patch to stop the craving for more alcohol may have to include the enzymes in quality and quantity so the alcohol is metabolised before the craving kicks in for more after that first drink.
It easier not to take the first drink, if you are a real alcoholic,
My my 2 cents
