SOMETIMES I JUST NEED TO LISTEN LONG ENOUGH TO MAYBE GET AN ANSWER.AT A MEETING TONITE MY COMPUTER WAS REPLYING SO SLOW I GAVE UP,COULDNT FIGURE IT OUT.TOPIC WAS ACCEPTANCE,H/P TELLING ME I NEED TO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THIS THING CALLED ACCEPTANCE.WHAT WAS SHARED REALLY HIT HARD,THANKS TO ALL WHO SHARED.MAYBE NOW I'LL TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THIS POWERFUL WORD AND START TO APPLY IT IN MY LIFE.THIS IS THE KEY TO ALL MY PROBLEMS,READ THAT IN A BIG BLUE BOOK. The things we cannot change Ted. So very true. If we just trust ourselves enough, and realize we are not the all powerful, invincible people we think we are, we stand a better chance at being free. Thanks Ted.

MUSIC TO MY EARS,READING THAT OVER AND OVER.TAKING A WHILE TO GRASP.DOES IT MEAN IF I'M HAVING PAIN ABOUT SOMTHING ,I HAVE'NT TRULEY ACCEPTED IT?OR PAIN BRINGS ABOUT CHANGE?STILL PONDERING MUSIC. STAY STRONG ted

As I understand the Serenity Prayer, it tells me that I should change what I can, don't change what I can't, and realize the difference between the two. After I've tried everything I can to change something, I let it go and accept it for what it is.
If you have a Third Edition Big Book, read page 449. Fourth Edition, page 417. Acceptance is the answer. I have to accept what I can't change. If I don't, I'm constantly in turmoil. Turmoil causes pain. Pain is optional. I can accept and move on, or not accept and get locked up. My choice!

I pray that everything works out for you-- I hear all the time ONE DAY AT A TIME-- for me its minute by minute. I can talk myself into anything Justifying it my head. I wish you all the best and pray that you have the strenghth to change.
