Annoyed
Why are people so dumb sometimes. I have shingles. Yeah, so what. I got meds for it. Work found out and sent me home today, even though I am not really contagious and someone would literally have to rub their whole body against mine AND not have had chicken pox before to get it. Annoyed at people's ignorance to situations like this.
Another setback, but that's life, I guess. My first alcoholic thought was definitely WRONG...got the "I'll show THEM" attitude and started fantasizing about how I have the whole day off now and could probably (yeah right) get away with a drink. Crazy thoughts!
Oh well, just sitting here drinking coffee...maybe I'll go use my GameStop card I got for Christmas in a little bit.
God Bless.

Sorry about the shingles. Hope you not in too much pain. Remember you can never change the way people think or react. You can only control yourself. Using the GameStop card sounds like a great idea.
Sorry for your troubles with work, Fernaceman. Thanks for sharing how alcoholic thinking always attempts to take advantage of our setbacks. Good to hear you've got it going on with sobriety, and you'll get thru all this crap with the shingles ands other peoples understandings of what is what.
Enjoy your day off, man.

Sorry to hear about the shingles, they can be painful can't they? Hope you make your lunchtime meeting. Perhaps this was meant to be, there will be something at that meeting you need to hear?
I'm having that same internal chatter at the moment about smoking...7 days nicotine free and my brain is going onto overdrive looking for reasons to buy a pack. It's pathetic. But so very strong!
My best wishes to you x

Yeah come to think of it, these things would have never happened when I was drinking....it would have been straight to the store for booze n cigarettes, then home to drink and *maybe* order some food...but the food would probably never have gotten ordered cause then it slows down the alcohol being absorbed!
Ran 2 1/2 miles?! AND stayed sober!!! You are awesome in my book fern
Frustration and anger are huge triggers for me. I know how you felt! I am still sensitive to working through these emotions sober. But reading your post gives me strength and hope!

Shingles suck. I was a few years sober when I had them. I thought I could handle the pain so I refuse the script for the painkillers. That night I almost got drunk because of the pain. I learned to listen and trust my Doctor, and that its ok to take painkillers for pain as directed. I also leaned some humility, it's ok to stay home when I'll, rest and get healthy again.
I had shingles once, very painful. Your work place is being careful. I work
in a school and we must exclude children / adults with herpes zoster virus ( chicken pox and shingles ), as it's a risk to immune suppressed folks, young children ( those too young for vaccinations yet) and pregnant women.
Glad you enjoyed your run, meeting and are looking forward to your company.

Thank you, everyone, for your supportive comments.
