Another Xmas.
Another Xmas.
Well its almost 8AM. Christmas day Melbourne time and in a few hours I will be driving off to my nephews place for celebrations.
As a drinker for over 50 years,an alcohol free Xmas has been few and far between. Pre January, 5 week de- tox 94, may have been; I can't really remember.
I just want to say that the slobbering bad news drunk is not the only one representing alcoholism. The last decade or so, I saw my drinking as relatively "normal" at 5 std white wines per evening. Normal? I think not. I really think, among those so caled "normal people" there are a good many mini alkies, some on the verge of becoming the real deal.
Sure, some peeps seem to drink pretty sensibly, but is any drinking what you would call sensible? Certainly not for me, in my new offensive, nil being the only positive number.
Its nil day 35 benzos, nil day 34 the slops; my guard is up and there are abstinence records still to be broken. I can do it and so can you.
Happy Christmas.

We know you can do it Murchovski. I drank for 30 yrs. and thought my life would be terribly boring without it. I was so wrong - being numb and foggy was boring. I'm glad we're facing the new year clearheaded and filled with hope.
