My First Sober Birthday
My First Sober Birthday
I have just over 90 days sober, and, Today, for the first time since my early teens, I celebrated my 26th birthday clean and sober. Went to dinner with my family, and took my 3 year old daughter to see Santa. And, for the first time, remembered my entire day without the alcoholic party animal inside me showing up to crash the party. I just wanted to share this monumental achievement with you, my friends here on SR.
I plan on eating some ice cream and kissing my wife goodnight tonight, as last year my birthday ended with her in tears and me blind drunk.
Thank you all here for your inspiration and support.

Hail yesss!:day1 Way to go! I got plastered on my birthday but that was last spring. I'm not looking forward to the big four-four but I'm eager to face it sober! I'll bet it was awesome being able to enjoy the day knowing you'd remember it tomorrow.
Happy birthday! I had my first sober birthday earlier this month and I really enjoyed it. My children surprised me with a cake and a card ( they are 11, 9, 8). Super sweet and just a great day. So glad you enjoyed yours too.
Amazing how sobriety paints everything a different color, eh? Congrats on your birthday - your daughter must have had a great time too. and how we can have fun with the wee ones having fun...wonderful.
Happy Birthday
