day 3 wow

today is my day 3. i am proud of my self. i saw the pacquico vs marquez fight tonight at my friends house. there was tons of alcohol and almost every one was drinking and most was drunk. time after time people offered me drinks. i did not drink at all. it was so difficult. i never watched a sporting event without drinking and tonight i did. tomorrow day 4 here i come. thank you soberrecovery you are a great support.

Great stuff. Well done on your time. I found I could not cope in heavy drinking situations when trying to keep my foothold in early sobriety.

Good on ya - it's difficult when we start getting into our "firsts" - first holiday season, first dinner party, first sporting event, first fishing trip, etc. sober. But it also gives us more confidence and demonstration that it is possible and that we really can have a good time without booze in hand.

Great stuff!

Well you never have to do day 1, 2, and 3 ever again!

I remember trying to go to some events like this early sober. I made it through but found myself very uncomfortable (or all too comfortable sometimes). I found it much easier to maintain sobriety if I avoided places where drinking was the main attraction.... at least for a while. Personally by the time I was really "ready" to be around the drinking scene, I had lost all interest in being involved in that anyway.

I've never got loaded from NOT being around alcohol.

We know how difficult it is at first! Very proud of you for that great accomplishment.

There is life after alcohol. I always thought things would be boring and pointless without it. I don't know why I thought getting numb was fun. I'm sure it felt great walking out of there sober....and no hangover or regrets.
