30 days sober! ! !
30 days sober! ! !
This is the first time I have ever reached 30 days sober. To be honest when I first quit I thought once I hit my goal of 30 days I would start drinking again but now that I have reached 30 I wanna hit 60. Ive gotta say my ability to make tough decisions , my personal health and overall well being have improved although I noticed quite a few withdrawl symptoms, the worst being irritability and depression I have this new feeling of control over my life. I went out the other day and bought a bunch of new clothinguo
I would have spent that money on liquor before.
I know 30 days is not much but I hope anyone at a week or two weeks will keep going because it seems to get better gradually. I have tried quitting many times before and usually lasted a week to two weeks before relapsing. I think using this forum has really helped me stay focused as I never was big on meetings. So thank you everyone that posts and contributes to this forum. Now its on to the next challenge which will be tough with the holidays around the corner.

Day 30, thats a heck of a job. And your dream of Day 60 will be here before you know it, all you have to do is take care of Day 31, then Day 32, then Day 33, etc. Don't rush it or get ahead of yourself, Day 31 is just as special as Day 30
Not trying to rain on your parade, just reminding you that it's one day at a time for all of us.

I would like to offer a rebuttal to that. If you love a buzz like I do and string together 30 days it's nothing short of a miracle. Give yourself a little credit, I'll wager you didn't just forget to hit the liquor store for the last month. Clearly you're doing something right, don't deviate!
Congrats on 30 days. Do not discredit yourself by saying "it's not too much." There are people who cannot string 30 hours or sometimes even 30 minutes together. 30 days IS huge.
Keep it up!
Keep it up!
When I was just a day or two sober, sitting in the back of a meeting, I would see people get their 30 day chips and marvel at how the hell they did it. I thought they were from another planet. How could they go that LONG without a drink?
So 30 days is a big thing. Don't downplay it - enjoy it.
And I like how you encouraged those with less than 30 days...very cool. That's what we do - help and pull for each other.
Congrats!

I have heard it said "30 days, 1000 nights." Congratulations on your 30 days. No matter if you have 50 years or one day, today is all each of us have! You are just as important as a long sobriety person! Keep up the good work and we are here if you need us!
thanks everyone. at 32 days now. seems to be gettinga little tougher but im gonna hang in there. its wierd cuz usually i feel the urges in 2 or 3 weeks but starting to hit me now. maybe its the daunting task of another 30 days! One day at a time. Im gonna start adding some excercise into the mix.

That is really good.
I am on Day 18. You are ahead of me, so not really my place to give advice, but I have started planning things to do which take a number or days and require sobriety.
I focus on these now, instead of just counting the sober days, and find myself not thinking about it as much.
