90 Days Today!
90 Days Today!
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a good week. I wanted to express how happy I am that I've gone twice as long as I've ever stayed sober before. I feel great today and look forward to tomorrow. I think I can be happy and stay that way without alcohol in my life. I have an important test very soon and regardless of the outcome, I feel like I don't want to take another damn drink ever again. Anyways, thanks for always listening, offering advice, and support. Take care friends
That's awesome, Meg.
That's the attitude. This is part of putting expectations on the outcome of things. We almost always have an outcome that we would really want, but as I see it, we get what we need, not necessarily what we want. Remember that things will always work out - it may not be the way we want it - but it works out.
Congrats

That is great.
By your user name, am I to assume that you are into running?
If so, how has your running improved since you quit?
Congrats again on the 90 days. I am on day 15, so a bit of a distance to go before I get to your stage, but will stick with it!

Thanks everyone. You guys are the best!
paul99: yes, I am really going to try and remind myself about expectations and resent before acting. Taking those deep breathes and telling myself, I can't control the outcomes of things, but I can control me.
773niki: great job on coming back after messing up. That takes incredible strength and courage. Remind yourself of that and of your desire to stay sober daily and you'll get there.
ZombieAttack: yes I run, I ran before I stopped drinking but run more now and do other forms of exercise as well. My running has improved the way that anyone improves when doing an activity repeatedly. We get better and better. Now however I look to running (nearly everyday) as my way to begin the day. Running is my therapy to release energy, anxiety, or to just think.. For me this form of exercise keeps me sane and focused. It also is another reason not to drink. That is, I don't want to be hungover so I can't run and I don't want to gain weight back by drinking again. I've worked to hard to get into kick ass shape! Best of luck to you, 15 days is awesome!
