Angry

I am so angry today.

My wife had a bottle of vodka stashed in a closet.
(She is NOT an alcoholic, it was in her craft room, some kind of potion she was making or something. In fact she never drinks vodka at all.)

She sent me in there to get something a couple weeks ago, and I saw it.
I mentioned it, and asked her to get rid of it.

Last night, I found myself thinking about it, wondering about it, ( I have a bad cold, and used to drink screwdrivers whenever I felt this way, BIG trigger.) but went to sleep.

This morning, no one was home, so I looked in the closet, and there it was.

I picked it up, carried it to the kitchen... and poured it out.

Minor victory, but Im really ticked that she took this so lightly.

Just venting.

Proud of you for pouring it out! Good job. I don't think the normies can understand how fragile our sobriety is sometimes.

Ugh. I was doing so great.
This whole thing has got me craving.

That smell sure woke the beast.

Well done DB. I am sure that if I had alcohol I used to drink in my house I would be getting cravings too. You did well x

I hope you do talk to her about it and tell her you put it down the drain and emphasize how badly it triggered you. Maybe it wasn't that she took it lightly, but that she just didn't realize. In any case, good for you that you didn't succumb to temptation.

Well, she was surprised. Had totally forgotten about it.
Funny how we think about this stuff, when normals coud literally care less.
She said, it wasn't for consumption.

I had to laugh. After avoiding wine in food, vanilla extract, and mouthwash, she still thinks nothing about a bottle of vodka sitting feet from our bedroom as a non threat because she has deemed it not for consumption.

Anyways, this ended up being a good lesson for me. I was feeling a little too invulnerable, and I now realize I need to keep vigilant.
She also apologized, and understands.
Thanks for the support guys.
