Book Review

I just ordered a book written by Allan Car called Control Your Drinking The Easy Way. Anyone read this book? Reviews? Opinions? Im now 3 weeks and 2 days sober. I didnt buy this book to control my drinking but to use the cognitive tequniques to strengthen my resolve.

I read The Easy Way it after I quit but it was still useful to me - hope it is to you too.
there's a few threads here and there, including this one:

No, Gravel - my book had a slightly different title but I think that was UK/US Market reasons.

if it's the same book I read, it's not a moderation book.

Looked at that link. Seems some people found it helpful. Hopefully it will be an extra weapon I can use to fight the urge.

The title is a little suspect. One, I can not control my drinking and two, it was not easy.

I was just going to post the same thing! I've heard a lot of people saying that Alan Carr's books have helped them stop drinking. I pulled it up on Amazon, and the first testimonial is pretty amazing.

Going over to check out the thread you mentioned, thanks Dee.

I loved it Lastchance. Allan Carr changed the way I think about addiction.

The title is kinda typical of Allan Carr's style really. His 'easy way' to 'control' it is actually not to do it because alcohol is addictive. But his language is very positive so as not to scare us alkies off x

The one I read was The Easy Way to Quit Drinking by Allen Carr.
It's the only book I've read about drinking, but I thought it was pretty good.
I think I may read it again.

I think his method works better for smoking but the alcohol one is a very good read. It shows everyone has the power to change their perception of drinking.
