We can't give you medical advice here, I'm afraid.

If you're worried about withdrawals the best thing to do is to seek professional medical advice, albmwman.

None of us are Drs, none of us know your clinical history, your medicatuion history or anything like that.

Tapering never worked for me...I was fundamentally ill-equipped to be my own Dr, and I do not recommend it.

I had a very bad last detox - I really encourage you to see your Dr - it's best to be safe.

Tapering works sometimes and maybe will but the idea of drinking to quit drinking back fired several times in my experience , sometimes a bad case of the jitters is what you need to increase your awareness of the dangers of alcoholism and how quickly it can get out of control , I might catch some fire for not urging you to talk to a dr but do if your really worried , and way to go for making an effort to do something at your age you can save yourself alot of trouble

i wish i was as smart as you at the same age,
had i slapped myself back then I'd probably have saved some grief.
Go to a dr, talk to your family if you can about all of this.

You can at least try and see what happens..
If it doesn't work than you will have your answer.
And a talk to the doc is never a bad thing.
Best of luck.

Thanks for posting. Personally, tapering can be hell. For me, I was still enslaved and it consumed me.

You have been through detox, so you know the drill. Don't let fear stop you. You are young and you have your whole life ahead of you. Take a few steps now so you can focus on a bright future.

Keep posting, and let us know where you land. Sending good energy your way regardless of how you proceed. But in my humble opinion, a trip to the doctor would be an excellent first step. We are here for you.
