Anyone ever been faced with an intervention. Did it help? make it worse?

Hi, Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

Yes, intervention done by my family back
on that day of 8-10-90 was helpful to me.
My sobriety date is 8-11-90, my first full
day spent in rehab without alcohol setting
me on a path of recovery with changes in
my life armed with tools and knowledge of
my alcoholism to help me build a strong stable
foundation to live upon for the past 22 yrs.

The knowledge learned about alcoholism and
drug and the affects it has on our bodies, mind
and soul gave me a better understanding of it
and how deadly it was and still is today.

I have lived a many one days at a time incoperating
the tools of steps and principles of a recovery
program growing and changing in my life, passing
on my own experiences, strengths and hopes of
what my life was like before, during and after alcohol
to others still struggling with addiction in order to
enjoy the promises granted to us as stated in the
Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.

In doing so, im a happier, healthier, honest, freer
person in life and recovery.

We have many members who are winning over alcohol
not sure howe many have interventions as part of their history.
