Hi,

Detoxing from alcohol can be very dangerous, so it's always a good idea to talk to your dr before you begin.

By the way, you will find support for yourself at AlAnon, so you might want to check it out.

I take a good quality multi vitamin, Complex B12, Milk Thistle and Gaba (3 time 500mg)
Work out 40 minutes a day (brake a sweat) and at night I take a natural remedy sleeping aid only if needed by 1am. So far, I only took it 3 times. I'm no expert but this is what I've done for 11 days. Breathing exercises and when I wake up in the middle of the night, I read until I fall asleep again. Lots of water or whatever you like to drink that doesn’t have caffeine.
I'm curious to see what others tell you. I'm very new at facing each day sober so my intel is only worth so much.

I don't know about you .... but I'm not interested in taking medical advice from strangers on the internet. Please talk with a doctor. Like Anna said, detoxing from alcohol can be very dangerous.

Please do look into Alanon for yourself.

I'm not an alcoholic. I'm woth one though and of course consult with a doctor lets say I/we cosult with a doctor. I'm still curious what happens and eases detox at home. Lets say my ah wanted too at home...with doctor supervision....what would happen and what would help the process? And how is detox at home vs conventional rehab different aside from it being dangerous

hi thislonelygirl
this website has a medical advice rule.

Here is the SR Rule....

10. Medical Advice: No Posts giving medical advice, medication advice, or psychiatric advice. Do not use the forum to give or ask for professional medical or psychiatric advice. If you are a medical professional, please remember the forums and chat are for peer support only and not to be used for distributing professional medical advice and/or using the forum to represent your professional services. Medical and Psychiatric advice includes giving a diagnosis, treatment plan, medication advice and dosage suggestions, over the counter and natural home remedies that should be approved by medical professionals. Detox can be dangerous and life threatening at times. Please consult with your physician.
I nearly died from my home detox. It left me with the legacy of several mini-strokes - something I will always have to live with now, so if I sound like a hard guy, maybe you'll understand why.

Please do consult a Dr.

What happened to someone else here and how they overcame it may not be suitable for others, and may well keep someone else from seeking professional assistance.

Thanks for your understanding

D

There are a lot of free or low cost clinics around - if there's one in your local area you might get some medical advice there?

2-1-1 Call Center Search

2-1-1 provides free and confidential information and referral. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more. Learn more about your local 2-1-1 by looking it up here.
Free/Low-Cost/Sliding-Scale Clinics
The 10816 clinics in this database are free, low cost, low cost with a sliding scale based on income, or offer some type of financial assistance.

Nothing wrong with asking lonelygirl. I think sometimes people don't realize how dangerous it can be.

Did you check out the link that Taking5 posted? It may answer some of your questions.
