Smile 1st Edition Big Book Find...Thank you, HP.

Just found a copyright June 1947 First Edition, Eleventh Printing of Alcoholics Anonymous at a local thrift store for $1.00. This is almost a year to the day of buying a 1955 2nd Edition, First Printing of the Big Book at an Estate Sale for $1.00, in the bottom of a box of totally unrelated books. I couldn't make this up if I tried.

Seriously.

What a special treat. I'm dumbfounded. I will send a pic if I can figure out how. I'm so curious to know how it got there. My HP continues to work miracles.

What a day. I love sobriety.

Can you imagine how many people may have read it?

Any markings in it? Curious to see if the book was used as a textbook!

Cool 1st Ed Reproduction

Just in case anyone's interested, The Anonymous Press has printed a reproduction of the 1st ed of the BB.....I'm sure they're available lots of places, but I know they're available thru Amazon; just search 'books' and Alcoholics Anonymous 1st edition.....

cool beans!! i have one of them reprints Noelle mentions. pretty interesting to find the few words that were changed. that plus the original stories, which there were a few that had drinking careers that started in the 1910's, yet here 100 years later, i can still relate.
