the hurricane
for a split second i thought about going to the store to get a supply of beer because the hurricane might shut everything down. The hurricane isn't even suposed to do much where I live. I kinda laughed after like "wow calm down you idiot LOL" Im on 58 days sober today.
I just told my husband minutes ago while
sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and
beautiful Fall weather that it's amazing how
we use to use all sorts of excuses or reasons
to drink. Before 8-11-90 I did drink for many
reasons and paid a high price for it, including
wanting to end my life. However, today, with
one of my beloved pets passing aways this morning,
I didnt need to drink because I am using the support
of SR and my AA recovery program in it's place to
help me thru this sad moment in my life.
58 days sober of many one days at a time is an
awesome accomplishment and with a recovery
program to build your life upon, then you never
have to go thru anything alone in your life again,
including hurricanes.

The last thing anyone needs to be in a big storm is drunk, guys.
Noone's doomed either.
I know there's a lot of hysteria out there but it's a storm...it will pass, and hopefully without too much impact....
and then life will return to normal
Both you guys have worked hard for your sobriety - cherish it...hang on to it.

All liquor stores here in PA closed at 3pm. Sadly some of my friends are posting online they didn't have enough time to get a supply of wine while others are talking about how they are partying through the storm. Is that all anyone does up here is drink? Granted I did panic too for a second but I am sober now.
I can see some of my friends are headed down hill and they don't even realize it. One posted she had "counted out bottles" to see if she had enough to last through the storm. This seems like a big party to some people.
