Hi all. I did it. Nothing today...rallied my troops(3 friends who have been through it) and hitched myself a ride (with 2 of those friends) to my first AA meeting. It was fantastic. I felt safe, surrounded, supported, welcomed and actually....even loved. It may have helped that the meeting is at a facility that is a big warm cozy log cabin with a roaring fire, lots of leather sofas, low lighting and candles.
I can't wait to go back. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow with a clear head and see about the next 24.

Thats a big one ! Getting to that first meeting usually isn't easy. I know I wasn't choosing to go because I thought it would be a great party...I was scared crapless. Sure glad I did and congrats on 24!
Stay with it , 90 in 90 works from what I see.

Well done. I liked AA too, from the day I realised I wanted to stop for good. Wonderful program that worked for me just like it has worked for many others. You could be on your way to a new life beyond your wildest dreams.
Thank you all SO much. Tucking a coin in my pocket as I head out to try to get caught up with work. Have 5 people who I can REALLY talk to on speed dial. There were some major benefits to going to bed with a clear head and a cup of Orange tea.....I watched a program in bed with my husband (and didn't pass out) and he was so happy to spend an evening with *me* that he had to pause it to hold my face in his hands and thank me.
THAT will take me through the next 24 I think.

Log cabin? Leather couches? Roaring fire?
Im a little jealous. Im used to hard metal chairs, cold church basements, and terrible coffee in styrofoam cups!
Kidding. Any room where there is recovery happening is a good room. Happy for you! Keep it up!

I know...I hear about the other meeting areas and although I am sure I will gain just as much love, support and encouragement in the church basement or hall(and I will attend these meetings as well)....I am lucky enough to have access to a place that is World Renowned as a treatment facility (way back when I had cable I used to watch people get sent there in episodes of "Intervention". It is exceptional and I am blessed!
