I am 2 years sober today SWEET SURRENDER
I miss SR! For the first 6 months of sobriety I was on here 3x/day. Then 2x/day. Then 2x/week. The last 6 months, hardly ever. I did not go to AA meetings but this former atheist finally surrendered. I prayed on my knees, every day, for God to give me the strength to stay sober. Also, I read sobriety books a lot, every day.
I can hardly believe how much better my life is. Not perfect, but so so so much better. Sickening to think of drinking again. This is me saying this, me (!), who drank 1.5 bottles of Yellowtail Chardonnay and smoked 8 cigarettes every night. 2 years with no alcohol, no cigs.
Enough about me! I want to say THANK YOU to everyone on SR who gave me encouragement at all my little milestones. They added up to 2 whole years! I want to help anyone on SR who needs it.

Awesome job! I am only on Day 4, haven't hit a weekend, a night out with friends, or a holiday so I'm scared, but I am just taking it not only one day at a time, but one minute and hour at a time. Chardonnay was my weakness too.
Again, awesome job! What an accomplishment!

That is great, Grateful. Nice to see that RD Jr quote again, that always brought a smile to my face.
Congratulations on finding your own solution to the puzzle, and thanks for sharing your experience, strength and hope, and bringing some inspiration along with.
