One weeo sober under the belt!

Ok, so a full week sober and I'm starting to feel the perks already. Still farrr from recovered, and am battling the side effects of purging my system of the poison ive been consuming for much to long. Any way I've yet to join AA- been moving and haven't fount the "right one" for me and my age group. In my small town the NA meetings might be a little more to my liking.
Soooo needless to say I haven't received the coveted one week chip, nor have o gotten a round of applause or pat on the back. My babies momma (whom I'm trying to mend bridges with) doesn't get it, since she isn't a full blown alcoholic like myself. I told her when my week sober was passed, and she wasn't so impressed - rightfully so. One week doesn't change the loads of crap we've been through.
So one week down, going on forever. Really excited to show her my 90 day chip.. but of course baby steps, and day by day.

Is there even a 7 day/ week chip?

Congrats on your sober time. Here's some applause

You deserve it!
Personally, I didn't like all the clapping for me during my day count. But it does make you feel like you've actually done something

They usually do 30 day/monthly chips...I'll give you a pat on the back though....One week was huge for me....I didn't think it was possible. 15 months later I say finding AA was a miracle. You can use AA and NA....Same steps...Most important thing....Get a sponsor to show you how it works....No point wondering around alone and aimlessly. Check out this site...You can learn something.....And a big congrats to you on one week!!....You don't have to go through that again. Glad you are here!

Your First AA Meeting<

well...
None of the AA groups I've attended give out 1 week chips
Not sure what they do in your area tho.

Good for you...

I'm with you, one week tomorow! Keep going, you are doing great. Try not to expect taps on the back from familly. At least in my case I don't. My tap on the back is when I look at myself in the mirror and feel proud and finally free.

Tough challenge tonight... My.mom and especially step dad are drinkers. 30 pack in the fridge bottle.of schnaups, sixer of some fu fu Mike's crap, and two shooters on laying.on a counter out.of sight.and mind.. I could have easily.cheated, and no one would have known, that is except for ME. Number one, and the one person who is keeping track.

Another day down and forever to go.

Even 2 weeks ago, shooters down the hatch regardless of brand or flavor no chaser... Monster slams of the weak sauce peppermint crap, slam at least two of the Mike's hard whatever- in a single gulp. That all undercover so the six or so beers I drank socially didn't seem over board. Then od drive home, stopping of course for the coveted pint or at least half pint and wake up not remembering when or how I fell asleep.
Rinse, change, repeat.
So glad I have broken that chain of utter crap...

Feels good to.look, think, and NOT consume. Kinda new to me but nice

well done. That's tough, having those temptations around, so readily available. Think of them as poison.

here'a another pat on the back

you are doing great!!! One week is an excellent start.. it might take some time to prove to the childs mother that you are for real, but be patient, and don't give up. She'll see it!!
