Sober Saturday...to do list

Since I am not blotto drunk today...I will change the sheets, do some gardening and recycle all my seltzer and soda containers. Then I will go the nursery and look at pretty plants. After which I will take my dog to the beach for a walk. Time for dinner...not sure what I will have yet.

Hope everyone has/had a great Saturday!

Nice to get stuff done! I'm working some but also hoping to get some recycling taken care of, tidy the house, do laundry, vacuum, clean the bathroom, cook some meals to freeze and eat next week, and walk the dogs of course!

I have had most of my Saturday already and here are my achievements

Up at 7:00 feeling refreshed
Ate breakfast
Showered, chose nice clothes to wear
Took the dogs out on the beach
Drove to local town with husband
Had coffee and a muffin
Shopped - enjoyed looking and choosing, mooching and buying
Had a leisurely long lunch - no alcohol involved, needed or even desired. Had a pudding though
Did a little more shopping
Drove home
Relaxed and settled down for an evening of SR, reading and listening to Classic FM

Ahhh perfect....... isn't sobriety wonderful

5 month ago - staggered up at any old time. No food, tea, coffee, coffee with whiskey, shower and into any old clothes, drag the dogs out, clock watch until I couldn't wait any longer - wine, wine, wine, whiskey, wine.......... blackout - repeat for Sunday...

Sounds like a good day Bloss. It's amazing how much we can achieve when we're sober! I love going to nurseries and pottering about in the garden. Just wish I could follow it by having a walk on the beach too.

Sober Saturday is so much better, no matter what we do. The beach was so pretty, wish everyone could have come along!

Sounds like we've all got some happy dogs! We had a fun walk and they got to stick their noses in a lot of gopher holes!

((Bloss)) - I wish I could have come too! The ocean is like a natural tranquilizer for me. The vastness of it reminds me that the problems I think are SO huge, are not that big at all. Glad you had a good day.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

I had a productive day too! It's sad to think of how many Saturdays were wasted for so many years. Anyway, my daughter let me sleep until 8:45! We got up, had breakfast, went to the bank and foodshopping. Came home, had lunch, and then she took a nap, during which time I spent 2 hours cleaning out our "junk room" which is going to become her playroom it felt SO good to get it done. Then I organized some photos, cleaned all my jewelry and organized it (btw ladies... a trick for ya... keep earrings in ice cube trays! Each square is like just big enough for a pair). Then we went to my parent's for dinner, my daughter had a bath, and then H got home and we all hung out until bed time. Awesome, productive sober day

Hi everybody

Wishing us all a happy productive Sunday too!

The ice cube tray is a brilliant idea, I'm always trying to match earings up to my outfits and spend ages rummaging through my jewellery box.

I will report back, i am taking a front bedroom, removing the junk, shampooing the carpet, washing the windows in there. I could use some help but its just me and the dog, cats today.
I'll start with coffee and a bagel

Where did the week go? Saturday to do list
Always first priority, take dog out for a bit
Then:
Bake a cake for my husbands father: he is 85, think it will be chocolate or banana nut.
Go over to sisters house and eat cake
Have a great Sober Saturday!

i've done 2 loads of laundry, cleaned out the dead tomato plants, dumped the dirt from pots into the side garden (it's supposed to rain tomorrow so it will wash into the soil. I trimmed this *dwarf* blue spruce which is not a dwarf....it's the size of a toyota camry! but it was growing into my kitchen window obscuring my view of the street. I trimmed it back enough and carried all the branches back across the side lawn into the woods.

now i'll change up the bed linens and go shopping for dinner...and maybe a small container of ice cream!
