I may be wrong but I bet your wife and kids would much rather have a sober husband and father than venison for dinner.

All I know is I could not be around any alcohol when I was in early sobriety and even today I tolerate drinking situations but still avoid them.

Totally agree. Of course I get up at 3:30 am, drive an hour, park and walk through the woods in the dark and climb up in a tree stand. Not a lot of drinking around at that point. The drinking is at the campsite but I will not camp out Friday night for the reason you mentioned.
