Hey everyone last night I saw a post someone wrote that hit me we alcoholics always look for an excuse to drink no matter what the occasion. Now instead of looking for an excuse to drink I am gonna look for an excuse not to.

No excuse is EVER needed to not drink... Not ever!

Awesome, though, you want to quit drinking!! Whatever it takes... Welcome to SR!

Here's a few excuses not to drink.

You would rather spend your money on something of value rather than on something that you literally **** away.
You want to cut out the excessive calories and carbs.
You want to be able to drive somewhere without the fear of getting pulled over or worse yet, killing someone.
You want to remember what you did the night before.
You would like to wake up without a hangover.
You would like to live a healthier lifestyle.
You would like to not have any regrets for anything stupid you might do or say while drunk.

I could go on but I think that's enough.

How about freedom?

How about self-respect?

You should hurry up, Seth. It's awesome over here.

Here is why I dont drink... I'm rebeling against the 'NORM' in this country and choosing Sobriety instead.

Angry

It seems I have many reasons not to drink, yet I usually just end up drinking. Otherwise I go with procrastination. It usually starts with the ``have just one`` thoughts. I have definitely had worse addictions in the past, so I know how serious it can get, I just don't know how to stop myself before it gets too intense/bad. Please help.
