I've done it! A whole year!
Congratulations to you, Zee, and well done on your one year sober. If I am not mistaken, you are sober without really espousing any program or method at all, so this makes you a trailblazer in some ways I think. Care to share any wisdom from your experience?
You HAVE done it! So happy for you!!!.... An amazing achievement. Truly. :day1
I also don't "follow" a program but take whatever helps me from all of them, plus daily using of this amazing site. Thank you for inspiring me to keep going and paving the way!!

(((Neferkamicheal))) You have no idea what is means to me to see that green word from you!!! x
(((Freshstart))) No, I don't use any programme... I use SR! I'll just quote what I wrote on another thread earlier today, it kind of explains what I do x
I can't say that this year has been a breeze, well, I AM an alcoholic! but, my goodness... I feel so much better for being sober! I highly recommend it!! xxx

I am very very very fickle. I don't think I could 100% stick to ANY recovery method. I just take bits and pieces of information from everywhere which I find help me. I am definately not religious nor am I spiritual (I should have had an epiphany last year when I was very ill, but I didn't... when I was lying in hospital, I cried once... that was because I missed my dog... a CHIHUAHUA!!! )... All I knew then, and all I know now, is that I cannot drink. There, decision made, easy! Keeping up sobriety is harder, because, as you know... its sociably acceptable... and everyone does it. This is where I dabble in different recovery methods... all of them make sense in their own way. I just don't take a particular one as my chosen path. I find that knowledge is the key. Get knowledge, it is very powerful. Being here on SR is fantastic for me because I get to read about everything. The one thing I know is that I have to stick to sobriety 100% whichever way I can...
