menapause and increased drinking
menapause and increased drinking
Hi everyone,
I have a question for the ladies.
I came across an article regarding an increase in alcohol consumption and peri-menapause and menapause. I can totally idenitify with this article.
I was a social drinker up until I turned 41. It is like a switch went off in my head and I went from having a couple of glasses a wine a month to a glass of wine a night to two to three glasses a night in a very short period of time.
I have never done drugs, I did not drink heavily in high school or college as it made me so sick. I didn't like feeling bad - so I didn't. What has happened? I know it is progressive, but has anyone had a similar situation?

I too was a social drinker who turned into heavy before
I actually quit at 53. Nothing to do with anything else
I considered this was a progression of my alcholism.
Quitting was the wisest move I ever made...not only for health
reasons but to enjoy life sans alcohol...

Forward is always the correct direction
