First AA Meeting

Hello everyone, Well I have 12 Days sober today and went to my first AA meeting! I choose to go to a woman's meeting as I felt I would be more comfortable and I was!! I was treated very well and with kindness and got phone numbers which I desperately needed!! I am really looking forward to my next meeting and talking again. I know everyone has had different experiences but I talked and introduced myself and I think that helped a lot.

That's the way to do it...Jump in with both feet...Find some women that are working the program and hang on to them tight...Study the book and keep an eye out for a sponsor...Nice job!!

And congrats on 12 days!!

That's so awesome! I accidentally went to the gay meeting my first time, but everyone was really cool, and I have went back to say hello a couple of times. We don't have a womens meeting close that I know about, but sounds good

Congrats on the 12 days. We can do it!

Start calling someone every day so when you get to a really bad place making that phone call won't be so difficult. Just a suggestion!

I second this. calling people is one of the hardest things for me and it definitely helps if you have practice.

I agree with this. It was so hard for me to pick up that phone the first few months!
