How is everyone?

I'm just sitting here watching some TV. Waiting to see how bad the 48 hr mark is going to be. I've only taken 2 of my Librium today instead of the 3 just in case things take a turn for the worse tonight. Had a good day of eating though. Starting to gain some energy. I keep wondering if this is about over. Its been wayyyy easier than my last detox which was somewhere around 3 years ago. However I was a waaaay heavier drinker then. Talking with y'all helps.

Once again thanks for the prayers

Not so good. Coming off a bit of a death run bc I got dumped, AGAIN. And she lives .1 mile away. Also struggling with that fact I must stop drinking, 20 yrs, and I'm scared. I love drinking. I love beer. I love the romantic feeling.

I hate the consequences and hangovers tho. Day 1 almost in the books

Tobo are you consulting with a Dr?

Man I've done detox more times than I want to admit. Dude they can be hell and very dangerous. Good luck to ya, and this site is super support!

Keep us informed on how your progress goes....

No real dr consult. I don't believe I am physically dependent on alcohol as I've gone past a few days before. I usually take a day off per week, average 6 the other 4 nights then 12+ the other nights

Hey, glad this one's going better. You're right, they really can be dangerous. Glad you're here posting. You don't have to ever go through it again. Have you got a plan/strategy for the next few weeks?

So Tobo, dude... tell me again why you love alcohol?

That fantasy—that painful, unsatisfying, imaginary love affair with alcohol—was much harder for me to overcome than physical dependency. It was essential for me to stop believing the lies my addiction told me, and realize my relationship with alcohol did not involve anything remotely like love.
